At Avelluto's we seek to provide a customer experience that is fun, casual and reasonable. La vera cucina italiana is about creating quality and comfort whilst inviting every guest to the table. The philosophy is that good things take time and love, and each person deserves a 'piece of the pie'!

For more than four decades, now spanning three generations, the Avelluto family has provided the greater KC area with Italian and Italian American food. Our family still has close and intimate ties with Italy and the philosophy of Italian food culture while still appealing to even the pickiest of palates. John, Patti, and their two sons Dominic and Gianni work together to bring you both nostalgia and new memories. We love our Mission, KS community and would never have imagined being anywhere else than where it all Began More than 40 years ago.



The History of Avelluto's Italian Restaurants
1976-Giuseppe Avelluto and Francesco Brunetti along with family come from Mola di Bari, Move to New York and Decided to Move to KC to Start a Pizzeria with their Sicilian Friend
1983-Avelluto decides to break out on his Own to Mission, KS with Son John as head Pizzaiolo wanting to eventually create more Italian dishes reminiscent of Mola di Bari
John returns to Avelluto's Italian Delight in Mission, Ks in 2007 as head pizzaiolo and begins to recreate of some the most beloved dishes from some of the several restaurant ventures the Avelluto family created
TODAY! The Avelluto family has returned to Mission, KS as Avelluto's Pizzeria & Ristorante focusing on bringing back beloved dished and fresh baked delights. We focus on using real imported Italian cheeses, meats and specialties to create Italian-American dishes with TrUE FLAVOR!
1977-Italian Delight is born in Indian Springs Mall in Kansas City, KS.
Avelluto and Brunetti bring new york style pizza to kansas City and are soon part of many Publications around town.
1995- The authentically Pugliese and critically acclaimed "Il Trullo" is born in Overland Park, KS and written about in several Italian and US publications for the duration of its existence. Run predominantly by John Avelluto.
